Love Over Fear Prog Reader’s Poll

So this was the first full album I recorded with Pendragon. I’d recorded “The World” and “Men Who Climb Mountains” in 2018 but those albums had already been released some time ago. I re-recorded them as part of the 40th Anniversary album, which also included live recordings from our shows.

I’m quite pleased to say that so far it’s doing very well. Apart from being on the Official Progressive Charts for 3 months and Amazon’s best selling album list, just recently, it was voted in at number 4 in the Best Album category in Prog Reader’s Poll 2020.

I remember recording the drums for this at Thin Ice Studios back in 2019. Nick had sent me the songs a few weeks before we went to Thin Ice and as I was rehearsing them in my studio I remember thinking how amazing they were. I kept saying to Nick that this was one of the best albums he’d written so far and that I just had a very good feeling about it. Every single song I recorded was a joy and personally it was another great experience for me working with both Nick and Karl Groom at Thin Ice. I finished recording the drums in 4 days and everyone was very happy on that final day! Fair play to Nick for writing such a great album.

We were supposed to play this album on tour in the UK, Europe, U.S., South America and Canada but unfortunately, due to COVID-19, that tour was cut short. We’re planning on rescheduling and finishing the remaining dates very soon. Stay tuned for further announcements.
